Hello, this is Clara
Picture a kitchen table late in the evening, a pot of tea that has gone a little cold, and a friend across from you who happens to know tarot. She has heard the whole story, including the part you told twice, and now she is turning a card over and reading it for you, plainly, the way you would want it read. That friend is Clara, and this site is her table.
She writes the daily card you can pull every morning, the free readings you can ask a real question of at any hour, the card meanings, the quizzes, and the longer personal reports you can order when a question deserves more than a paragraph. Her portrait is a drawing rather than a photograph, because Clara is a voice we made with a great deal of care, not a woman in a room somewhere. We would rather tell you that on the first page than let you work it out on the third.
What she is like
Warm first, honest a close second, and never in a hurry to frighten you. Clara likes plain words and one good image over ten adjectives. She takes your question personally before she takes it to the deck, because the way you ask says as much as the card that answers. She has a dry sense of humor that she keeps for herself and for you, never for the people in your story. And she has one habit you will notice quickly: every reading ends with one line worth keeping and one small thing you could do today, usually before bed, usually with nothing more than a pen or your own two feet.
She will tell you when she does not know. She will not tell you what someone else is feeling, because she cannot see it any more than you can, and she thinks a card that claims to is a card being read badly. What she will do is read your own side of a situation, which is the only side that has ever been yours to act on.
How a reading gets made
We wrote the voice, the seventy-eight card meanings, a shelf of sample readings that set the standard, and a set of house rules that every reading has to pass. When you ask a question, technology brings your words and your cards together into one piece of writing inside that voice and those rules, in a few seconds, for free. Then the writing is checked: nothing frightening, no promises about health, money, pregnancy, court cases or other people, one concrete image, one small step. Anything that misses gets written again before you see it.
So no, nothing here is written by hand, and you will never see us say it is. What is done by hand is everything around it: the meanings, the standards, the checks, and the decision, years ago and again every week, about what kind of tarot we want to put into the world.
The personal reports
The free readings are quick and kind. A personal report is slower and made for you alone, with your name, your situation in your own words and eight to ten pages of reading that takes as long as it takes. It goes through the same checks, and when anything about it is not right it waits for one of us before it goes out. If it does not give you something worth keeping, you write to us and we refund it, with no forms and no questions about why.
Who is behind the table
Tarot Claritas is made by Magnolia Creations BV, a small company in a village in the east of the Netherlands. We also run a Dutch site about angel numbers and signs, and a small collection of rose quartz jewelry that you will find in the shop. Everything we have learned about writing that leaves people a little steadier than it found them has gone into this site. There is no content farm behind the curtain, and when you write to us, one of us reads it and answers.
Why we do it this way
A lot of tarot online is either vague enough to fit anyone or scary enough to keep you clicking, and both are ways of taking something from the person reading. We wanted the opposite: honest about what a card can and cannot do, warm without going soft, and useful enough that you close the tab and go do the small thing. If you ever leave here feeling smaller than when you arrived, we got it wrong, however nice the words were, and we would like to hear about it.
