Who we are
Tarot Claritas is run by Magnolia Creations BV, registered in the Netherlands under Chamber of Commerce number 94601798, VAT number NL866833067B01, at Oud Zevenaarsedijk 4, 6913 KM Aerdt. Magnolia Creations BV is the controller of your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation. Write to info@tarotclaritas.com about any of it and a person will answer you.
The short version
We ask for as little as we can, because a reading needs your question far more than it needs your name. You can draw a card, take a quiz and get a full reading without telling us who you are; we need an e-mail address only for a reading you want sent to you or for Clara’s Sunday letter, and an address only when something has to be posted.
What we collect while you read
When you ask for a reading we receive the question you typed, the theme you picked, the cards that were drawn and the time it happened, and we keep it against a random visitor number rather than against your name. That number lives in a cookie called claritas_vid, and it lets the site remember today’s card and how many days you have been coming here. It is not shared with advertisers and is not used to profile you.
Our servers also keep the usual technical records: a shortened IP address, your browser type and the pages you asked for, which keep the site standing and the daily reading limit fair. They are kept by our host for a short period and are deleted within 30 days.
Readings and the technology that helps write them
To put a reading into words we send your question, your theme and your cards to Anthropic PBC, which runs the model that helps assemble the text. We do not send your name, your e-mail address or your visitor number with it, and Anthropic acts as our processor under a data processing agreement and does not use what we send to train its models. Please do not type medical details, payment details or anyone else’s personal information into a question; a reading does not need them.
If you ask us to save a reading, subscribe to the Sunday letter or keep a quiz result, we store your e-mail address, what you asked for and the moment you agreed. We use it to send you that and nothing else, we never sell or rent it, and every message unsubscribes in one click. This rests on your consent, which you can withdraw whenever you like without giving a reason.
Orders, payment and delivery
If you buy something we store your name, e-mail address, billing and delivery address, what you ordered, the amount and the payment status, because we need them to perform the contract and because Dutch tax law makes us keep invoices for seven years. Payment runs through Mollie B.V. as an independent controller: your card or bank details go to Mollie and never touch our servers.
Who else sees any of this
A small number of companies, each under a written agreement and each only for their part: Hostinger for hosting inside the EU, Anthropic PBC in the United States for the text of a reading, Mollie B.V. for payments, a European e-mail service for the Sunday letter, which we will name here the day we start using one, and the small warehouse in the Netherlands that packs and posts the jewelry for packing and posting jewelry. Transfers outside the European Economic Area run under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, and we give data to a public authority only when the law obliges us to.
How long we keep things
A free reading is kept against your visitor number for one day, long enough for the follow-up question, and then it is gone; the visitor number itself expires after a year. Personal reports are kept for as long as your download link is valid and are deleted with the order records afterward. E-mail addresses stay until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, after which we keep only a note that you opted out. Orders and invoices are kept for seven years because tax law says so, and technical records for up to 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, have our use of it restricted, object to it, or ask for it in a portable file, and where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before. Write to info@tarotclaritas.com and we answer within a month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands or to the authority where you live.
Cookies
The site sets a few cookies it cannot work without: the claritas_vid visitor cookie above, a session cookie while you are signed in, and the WooCommerce cookies that remember your basket. Any cookie beyond that, including measurement and advertising, is set only after you agree in the banner, and the cookie link in the footer lets you change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Age
Tarot Claritas is for people of eighteen and over, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Keeping it safe, and keeping you posted
The site runs over an encrypted connection, administration access is limited and protected by two-factor sign-in, and backups are encrypted. If something does go wrong that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the supervisory authority as the law requires. When this policy changes the new version goes up here with the date it took effect.
