Does he love me?

You can type this question at one in the morning and find hundreds of pages that answer yes, because yes is what keeps people reading. We are going to do the less popular thing and say that no card knows what he feels, and no reader does either, however confident they sound.

What a reading can honestly do is show you your own side of this clearly enough that you stop needing a website to decide for you. That is worth ten minutes, and it is free, and it will not flatter you.

What this reading is looking at

The draw below is the love spread: three cards, read as where you are standing, him as far as anybody can honestly see him from outside, and the space the two of you have made between you. The middle card is the one to be careful with. It reads what he does and what he has said, which is observable, and it does not read the private weather inside another person’s head.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A card can describe a pattern you are living inside. It cannot open somebody’s chest.

The honest part, said once

The cards cannot see into his phone or his heart. They can see your side of this, and that is the side that is yours to act on. If you have been reading his silences the way people read tea leaves, adding up the gaps between messages and the way he said fine, then the useful truth is that you have been doing a great deal of work to avoid one plain question.

We are not going to tell you to ask him. That is yours. We will say that the question you are asking a search engine has an owner, and it is not us.

What people usually find here

Two things come up over and over. The first is that most people already have their answer and are looking for a second opinion that outranks it. If reading a card that said no would make you feel caught rather than surprised, you have your answer and you are negotiating with it.

The second is that the question underneath does he love me is often not about love at all. It is about whether you are allowed to want more than you are currently getting, and whether asking for that would end things. That question is answerable, and it belongs to you rather than to him.

If you want the same thing in a lighter format, the does he love me quiz walks through the evidence you already have without asking you to believe in anything. The Lovers card page is worth ten minutes too, because it is almost never about romance and almost always about a choice somebody is putting off.

How to ask so the reading is worth having

Swap the subject of the sentence. Instead of asking whether he loves you, ask what you are not letting yourself see, or what you would do if the answer were no, or what you have been calling patience for the last six months. Those questions get answers a card can actually support, and they land closer to the bone.

It helps to say the question out loud before you draw it. Questions change on the way from the head to the mouth, and the spoken version is almost always the real one, which is why people sometimes hear themselves ask something quite different from what they had typed.

And if a reading comes back and your first move is to draw again, stop there and take that as the finding. Redrawing is rarely about the cards.

What to do after the cards

Take whatever came up and turn it into one sentence you could actually say out loud. Not a speech, not a whole conversation, one sentence. Most of the fear here is not fear of his answer, it is fear of the moment just before it, and that moment is much shorter than the weeks you have spent circling it.

If it turns out you are asking because he has been half in and half out for a long time, what is he thinking goes further into that particular kind of tired.

Whatever the cards said, you are allowed to want a clear answer, and you are allowed to go and get one.

Questions people ask

Can tarot really tell me if he loves me?

It cannot. A card has no access to another person’s feelings, and any site that gives you a straight yes is guessing and hoping you come back. A reading can show you your side of it, which is the side you can actually do something about.

What card means he loves me?

There is no such card. The Lovers is about choice and what you are choosing between, not about a man’s feelings, and the Two of Cups is about what a bond looks like when both people are in it. Neither of them is a verdict on him.

How many times can I ask?

As often as you like, though most people find the answer stops changing after the second or third draw. When the same idea keeps arriving in different clothes, that is usually the reading finishing rather than starting.

One small step

Write down today the one thing you would need him to say for this question to go quiet, in his words, not yours. Keep it in your notes app until you decide what to do with it.
