A stone in your pocket is not a treatment and it is not a promise. What it is, on a good day, is a decision you can touch: you chose it on a clear morning, and by Thursday afternoon when nothing is clear it is still against your skin, doing the one job you gave it.
That is what these pages are about. We take the twelve stones people ask about most, say plainly what each one has come to mean, what it can do for a week like yours and what it cannot do at all, and then give you something to do with it rather than a shelf of pretty rocks. Each page pairs its stone with a tarot card and one intention, because a card and a stone are doing the same work from two directions.
None of this is medicine. No stone treats an illness or replaces a doctor, and none of them change what somebody else decides.
Every stone we have written about
- Rose quartz meaning, and the one thing it cannot do
- Amethyst meaning, and what it is really for
- Tiger’s eye meaning, and the moment before
- Moonstone meaning, and the first answer
- Black tourmaline meaning, for a braced month
- Citrine meaning, for a flat stretch
- Clear quartz meaning, for a head with too much in it
- Green aventurine meaning, and the ordinary kind of luck
- Lapis lazuli meaning, and the sentence you have not said
- Amazonite meaning, and the conversation you keep rehearsing
- Black onyx meaning, for getting through it
- Sunstone meaning, for the evening you would rather skip
Questions people ask
Do crystals really do anything?
Not on their own, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What a stone does is hold a decision you made on a clear day and hand it back to you on an unclear one, which is a real and rather ordinary mechanism. If that sounds too small to be worth it, try it for a week before you decide.
How do I choose one?
By what this month has actually been like rather than by what looks nice in the photograph. The quiz takes two minutes and asks nine plain questions about your last few weeks, and the pages below say enough about each stone that you can also simply read four of them and know.
Can a crystal replace medicine or therapy?
No. No stone treats an illness, an infection, a mood disorder or a broken night, and anyone selling you one for that is doing you harm. Keep the appointment, take the medication, and let the stone be what it is, which is a small reminder you can carry.
