Yes or no tarot is the most searched thing in the deck and the easiest to do badly. A single word answer is enormously satisfying and almost always more confident than anything a card can support.
How this one works
You get a lean in the first sentence, in plain words, and one condition attached to it. The lean is about your side of the question: whether to send it, whether to go, whether to say yes to the thing on Saturday.
What would you like to look at
Pick the shape that fits the question. You can change your mind at any point before you draw.
Before we start
Twenty seconds, feet on the floor, hand somewhere warm. Breathe in while the circle grows and out while it settles. You can skip this whenever you like.
What is on your mind
In your own words, as much or as little as you like. You can leave it empty and simply draw.
Your cards
Laying them out now.

The questions it will not answer
Anything about what another person will do or feel. Will he come back, does she still love me, will they offer me the job. For those the honest first sentence is that the card cannot see it, and then the reading turns to what is actually yours.
Also, quietly, anything about health, a diagnosis, a court case or a pregnancy. Those are not places for a lean, and the harm of getting one wrong is not the kind you can undo.
How to ask so that the answer is usable
Put yourself in the question. Not will he text me, but should I be the one to text. Not will I get it, but should I apply. Once you are the subject of the sentence, a lean becomes something you can act on rather than something you have to wait for.
And say it out loud before you draw. Questions change shape between the head and the mouth, and the spoken version is usually the real one.
What a lean is worth
About as much as a friend saying go on then. That is not nothing, and it is not a decision either. Most people who ask a yes or no question already know which answer they were hoping for, and the draw is doing the job of making it sayable.
If the answer lands and you feel relieved, that is information. If it lands and you immediately want to argue with it, that is more information, and it is usually the more useful of the two.
Start a yes or no draw
Ask it at the yes or no draw, or take the longer route with three cards if the question turns out to have more in it than a yes.
A lean is not a permission slip. You were always going to be the one who decided.
Questions people ask
How does a yes or no reading work?
Each card carries a lean, and the draw gives you that lean along with one condition attached to it. It is a nudge with a reason, not a verdict, and it is about your side of a question.
Why will it not answer questions about other people?
Because a yes about what somebody else will do is a guess with a confident voice, and people act on it. For those questions the reading says plainly that the card cannot see it, and then reads your half.
Can I ask the same question twice?
You can, and the second answer is not more true than the first. If you find yourself drawing repeatedly, the useful information is that you already know which answer you were hoping for.
